Fees and Finance

Programme fees: £891  

This includes the course text book, student guide/ handbook, online resources, examination, certificate and university transcripts

Additional costs not included in the programme fees:
BBTS membership
Travel/ accommodation plus associated expenses e.g. for induction and exam days

A 20% deposit  will be requested in the first instance, payable by you, even if your employer has agreed to fund the full cost of the programme.

If you are paying for yourself, there will be the option to pay the full fee up-front or to pay in three installments, however, this will incur additional administration costs. Specific deadline dates for payments will be provided and reminders will be issued.
Late payment of programme or membership fees incurs suspension of online access and exam eligibility.

BBTS reserves the right to withdraw students from the course where:

  • Programme or membership fees remain unpaid 
  • There is no response to repeated correspondence from BBTS

All deposits are non-refundable.


Payment Dates for 2019 Programme:  

All applicants:
Deposit  (£178.20)   -  31st December 2018  (deposit to have been paid by individual, and reclaimed from employer as necessary)

Self-funded:
Instalment 1 (£249.48 ) –14th May 2019

Instalment 2 (£249.48)  – 31st July 2019

Instalment 3 (£249.48)  – 31st October 2019

Employer-funded:

Full remaining balance (£712.80) – no later than 31st March 2019


Purchasing the study book separately

The study book is available for purchase as a reference tool for your hospital or laboratory.

BBTS members receive a 50% discount.

PLEASE NOTE:  

  • Purchase of the book alone does not make you eligible to sit the Specialist Certificate in Transfusion Science Practice examination.
  • If you are applying for the programme, you do not need to purchase the study book as a separate item (it is included in the course fees). Applicants purchasing the book separately will not be entitled to a refund.
