Components
The Components Special Interest Group (SIG) programme aims to reflect all aspects of blood components technology and quality management,from donor through processing, to ultimately the patient. We also aim to enhance awareness through scientific, technical and advisory support.

- Component production / development
- Quality monitoring / science / research
- Clinical / blood safety
- Hospital links
- Supplier links
- International links
Objectives:
- Technical, scientific, clinical information transfer related to component technology, quality and safety / efficacy
- Communication through local/regional meetings,international forums and joint publications
- Training through workshops and seminars
- To interact with suppliers/companies and other scientific functional groups to ensure up to date scientific knowledge is available to all
- To assist, where requested, in the setting of best practice and recommendations for standard / standardisation.
