Rachel Moss appointed Chair of the British Blood Transfusion Society’s Annual Conference Committee

A new chapter for the BBTS Annual Conference sees Rachel Moss leading as Chair of the Annual Conference Committee, as preparations for September’s event continue.

Rachel took on the role in October 2025 following Julie Staves, who became BBTS President after the Harrogate conference. Having previously served as Deputy Chair, Rachel brought valuable experience and a strong understanding of the role. She has been an active member of BBTS since 2003 and has attended the Society’s conferences for over two decades.

She is the first Transfusion Practitioner to chair the Annual Conference Committee and was awarded the prestigious BBTS Gold Medal in 2025, becoming the first in her profession to receive this honour.

Rachel and the Committee are working to deliver a programme that continues the high standards associated with BBTS conferences, and they look forward to welcoming delegates to Glasgow later this year.
