The British Blood Transfusion Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Hazell to Council, following a unanimous vote, to serve as Chair of the Communications Committee.
Matt has been an active contributor to the Society’s communications activity over the past two years and now takes on the role of Chair, having previously served as a member of the Communications Committee and supported the development of Bloodlines and other communications outputs.
He is a Consultant Clinical Scientist at NHS Blood and Transplant and has been a member of the Society since 2015. He was awarded Fellowship of the Society in 2015 in recognition of his contribution to transfusion practice and to the work of the Society.
Matt is also closely involved in a number of other key areas of Society activity, most notably leading the development of the Specialist Certificate in Clinical Transfusion Practice.
The Society warmly welcomes Matt to this role and looks forward to his leadership of the Communications Committee.
The Society would also like to thank the outgoing Chair of the Communications Committee, Danny Gaskin, for his time, commitment and valued contribution to the Committee.
