I began my career as a goldsmith before transitioning into nursing in 2008, graduating with distinction in 2011. I then spent five years working in Intensive Care within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, gaining experience across the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the Southern General Hospital, and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Following this, I took on the role of Apheresis Charge Nurse with SNBTS, where I worked for four years and had the privilege of supporting Scotland’s first CAR-T cell collection before going on maternity leave in 2020. I returned to SNBTS in 2021 as a Transfusion Practitioner and have remained in this post since, contributing as a member of the Transfusion Team.
I particularly enjoy the creative aspects of my role, including designing engaging and colourful toolkits that support safe transfusion practice. I am also passionate about education and regularly teach staff at all levels across the NHS, as well as university learners.
Most recently, I have been accepted onto the next cohort of the Digital Health and Care Leadership Programme, where I hope to develop a digital learning package to enhance our undergraduate skills workshops.
