2 Week Countdown

The 2014 BBTS Annual Conference opens its doors in just two short weeks!

Preparations are in full swing at BBTS HQ as we gear up to deliver the 32nd BBTS Annual Conference.  This year we're heading back to the picturesque town of Harrogate (and secretly hoping we get a spare hour  to visit the infamous Betty's Cafe Tea Rooms).

This year's programme is packed full of sessions covering a range of topics including a full day dedicated to Patient Blood Management.  We are hosting 35 sessions in total this year designed around four main themes:
Blood Management in Patients, What’s in the Bag, Diagnostics, Education & Training

The "regulars" of course will be there, including interactive clinical and serology case studies, transfusion practitioner and nursing sessions plus an update on Quality Assurance for laboratories including a session on root cause analysis. Our award lectures,  an update on Healthcare Scientists and Modernising Scientific Careers PLUS two new simultaneous sessions: one which will showcase Quality Initiatives from around the UK and the other focusing on ‘Trouble in Transfer, Trauma and Transplantation.  We hope we have avoided topic clashes wherever possible!

As more and more boxes arrive, and the office begins to resemble a warehouse rather than a functioning working space, our excitement begins to build. Put simply, we love the conference!  It's a real opportunity for us to meet our members (and non-members) face to face and get to know who you are and what you want from your Society.

We will be available throughout the conference on stand no. 78 in the Exhibition Hall so if you have any comments, questions or suggestions for the team then make sure you visit our brand new exhibition stand. Not only could you win £100 in John Lewis vouchers thanks to our exhibitor competition, but you can also learn more about the online CPD tool, pick up a copy of our new look Bloodlines or learn more about BBTS membership and how we can support your career.

If you have yet to register, don't worry, there's still time but please note that only credit card payment is accepted now. Visit our Annual Conference page for more information and to register.

For those who have already registered, we look forward to seeing you in Harrogate!
