Intended Audience
The session is open to anyone with a scientific background and interest in blood component quality.

Brief Description
This year’s Components session will take a look at the more “novel/boutique” blood components and will discuss the manufacture of these, combined with the rationale and benefits of these products not only on the storage of them but also to the patient.

We feel it is an ideal opportunity for us to reflect on this. Given the area we have chosen we have managed to attract some excellent local speakers to present in this topical area and expect that the session will give scientist an ideal opportunity to discuss/debate many of the important aspects in this key area of blood components.

Key Learning Objectives
1) Have appreciation of these novel products
2) Benefits to component and patient
3) increase knowledge of blood products
