Brief Description
Can transfusion be given safely outside of a hospital setting to improve patients' pathway and quality of life? When transfusing outside of a hospital setting how can blood transfusion safety be maintained; can cold chain procedures be managed to comply with BSQR, can patient reactions be responded to in a timely manner and which patients are eligible for this service.

Can hospital transfusion practice be flexible enough to meet patient requirements when these fall outside of policy/guidelines? Join an interactive session to discuss cases where patients’ requirements or situations may not fit the guidelines. How you would react when faced with situations in which you need to think outside the 'box'?
