BBTS Specialist Certificate in Transfusion Science Practice

This Specialist Certificate course is a distance learning scheme run by the British Blood Transfusion Society (BBTS), open to both members of the Society and members of other appropriate professional bodies, e.g. IBMS.

The BBTS Specialist Certificate in Transfusion Science Practice qualification is ideal for staff working in both immunohaematology or hospital transfusion laboratories and blood transfusion centres such as component production and donation microbiology testing.

The BBTS Specialist Certificate qualification can be used as evidence for moving from a registered ‘qualified’ practitioner to ‘specialist practitioner’ grade in transfusion science.

The Specialist Certificate in Transfusion Science Practice Training Package is available from the BBTS office priced at £45 for BBTS members, and £75 for non-members. Additional charges apply to those ordering from outside the UK. The training package includes information on the certificate examination, a study guide containing a copy of the training standards and the recommended course textbook ‘An Introduction to Blood Transfusion Science and Blood Bank Practice’ fifth edition.
