These provide a focus for workers with common interest.
All groups are organised as separate entities with a Chairperson and/or Secretary. However, they work within guidelines prepared and issued by Council and, therefore, are very much a part of the Society. Some groups are very informal whereas others prefer a more formal approach.
Special Interest Groups usually meet on the day before the Annual Scientific Meeting, in addition some organise one-day symposia, etc. Members of the Special Interest Groups may or may not be members of the Society.
